Oireachtas Staff Volunteer Day

Every year, the staff of the Oireachtas volunteer a day of their annual leave to engage in charitable work. This year, the remarkable event was organized by Sandy Hazel from the Oireachtas, with Caroline O’Leary nominating Deaf Village Ireland (DVI) as the beneficiary. The staff of the Oireachtas raised funds through cake sales and choir practices to support the purchase of materials needed for the project.

Fundraising Efforts


The Oireachtas staff showed their commitment and generosity by organizing several fundraising activities. Cake sales and choir practices were held, successfully raising the necessary funds to cover the cost of materials for the renovation and beautification of Deaf Village Ireland.


Volunteer Work at Deaf Village Ireland


On the day of the event, a team of 30 dedicated volunteers from the Oireachtas arrived at Deaf Village Ireland. Their hard work and enthusiasm were evident as they undertook a thorough deep clean of the premises. Additionally, all the furniture was painted in vibrant colours, transforming Deaf Village Ireland into a warm and welcoming environment.
